Leaders and Legends of Philadelphia
Smith’s Black History Month celebration runs throughout the month of February. Highlighting the achievements of prominent African American leaders from our region, this kid-friendly exhibit offers inspiration for young learners as well as lessons in diversity, equity and inclusion.
Play-A-Palooza
Philly families know that spring has officially sprung when Play-A-Palooza comes to the Playground .The day is marked by games, crafts, music, food, and more, and kicks off Smith’s extended hours to accommodate the longer days of spring.
Kidchella Music Festival
At Smith, children rock! During the summer, we welcome award-winning bands and local youth performers to the Playground and get everyone movin’ and groovin’.
Barely Scary Halloween
Smith’s not-so-scary costume party embodies fall fun on the last Friday evening in October. Carve pumpkins, roast s’mores, and experience the Playground after dark as we make the most of harvest season. Barely Scary Halloween is presented by the Pincus Family Foundation.
Noon Year's Eve
Help us ring in the New Year at noon on December 31st with a joyful celebration featuring family-friendly activities, games, and delicious snacks, kid-friendly music, and a live drumline performance.
Party in the Playground
Enjoy an evening of delicious food, specialty cocktails, live music, auctions, and rides on the Ann Newman Giant Wooden Slide! Funds raised support Smith's mission to welcome families from all over the city and offer educational and advocacy programs that leverage play for children, families, and communities' growth.
Slide-A-Thon
Coming in 2025: Smith's Corporate Slide-A-Thon! Teams compete in a thrilling slide challenge for a day of team building fun, all in support of the Ann Newman Giant Wooden Slide. More details coming soon.
