Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse offers a free, safe place to play for children 10 and younger. The 6 1/2 acre Playground includes the Ann Newman Giant Wooden Slide and more than 50 pieces of unique, age-appropriate and accessible pieces of play equipment. The 16,000 square foot Playhouse, designed for children 5 and younger, gives them a chance to drive the train, cook in the kitchen, ride tricycles in Smithville and much, much more.
Children visiting Smith must be accompanied by an adult, and adults must be accompanied by a child.
Smith is closed to the public on Mondays, as well as the following days in 2015:
- 1/1, New Years Day
- 7/4, Fourth of July
- 9/25- 9/28 Papal Visit
- 11/26-27, Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday
- 12/24-25, Christmas Eve and Day
- 12/31, New Years Eve
Smith reserves the right to close the Playground or Playhouse in the event of inclement weather, including rain, snow, excessive heat, etc.
