David Pincus Extra Fun Day (Free)

Smith and The Pincus Family Foundation will host the 5th annual celebration of the life of David Pincus–local philanthropist, art collector, and Smith supporter. In the spirit of David Pincus’ dedication to issues pertaining to children and families, families are invited to Smith for a free celebration of fitness and recreation that includes sports activities, special giveaways, and lots of yummy food for the family.

Celebrate the arrival of fall with WHYY and Daniel Tiger at Smith! Make memories while creating a community mural, participate in the “Global Cardboard Challenge”, and enjoy the Playground and Playhouse. Bring a gently used book to share with your neighbors and receive a special treat. Smith and WHYY members are invited for a VIP Meet and Greet with Daniel Tiger before the Playground opens!

Healthy Halloween (Annual Ticketed Event)
Saturday, October 28 | 10am-12pm
Join Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse for a fun Halloween celebration including nature exploration, live music, a “Thriller” dance party, messy arts, healthy treats, and fun in the 6 1/2 acre Playground and 16,000 sq. ft. Playhouse! Children are welcome to come in costume.
Smith is joined by Let’s Go Outdoors, Noggin Hill Blue Grass, and School of Dance Arts to provide the morning’s activities. Healthy treats, giveaways, and decorations generously provides by Beech-Nut, Happy Family, Primex Garden Center, and Vetri Family Foundation.
Tickets are $10 per child or free for Smith members.

Winter Wonderland (Annual Ticketed Event)
Saturday, December 9 | 10am-12pm
On the second Saturday in December, Smith hosts its annual Winter Wonderland celebration. Families are invited to Smith for festivities that include holiday lights, arts and crafts, an ice carving demonstration, gingerbread house building, s’mores making, and live music.

In May, join us for an adults-only celebration to benefit Smith and enjoy food from popular food trucks, cocktails, entertainment, a silent auction, and the presentation of the Ida Newman Magic of Play Award to local play champions.

Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse’s Kidchella Music Festival features performances by 6 nationally acclaimed Children’s Music artists at Smith each summer as well as a celebration of local youth arts and other fun activities for families.
